Numerous prayer warriors, small groups and churches have prayed and fasted for revival in the Keys. Prophecies have included visions, dreams, and words that include the great light of revival being shone like a lighthouse over all of the Keys.  It has also been prophesied that the revival in Florida will be brought in through the Keys.  A prophetic word that impacted me greatly in 2007 was this:

“Pass through, pass through the gates! Prepare the way for the people.  Build up, build up the highway!

Remove the stones.  Raise a banner for the nations.”

Isaiah 62:10

This directive proceeds the return of the Savior, in verse 11.

In November 2012,  local prayer intercessors from Islamorada attended the IHOP Miami Encounter God weekend retreat and together became very interested in pursuing the vision of a permanent place of prayer open for all people on a regular basis in the Florida Keys.  Continued visits to the IHOP Miami prayer room with other residents of the Keys led to a meeting with the Director of Miami IHOP David Futrell and Pastor Marlin Simon of Spirit and Truth Ministries  to plan a night of worship led by the Miami team in April 2013.

On January 13, 2014 the Florida Keys House of Prayer began its regular open hours of prayer.  Worship was led on the keyboard and intercession was made both privately and corporately at the microphone, led by individuals as the Lord placed a scripture or word on their heart.  One particular scripture was repeated.

“Forget the former things; do now dwell on the past.  See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up: do you not perceive it?

I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland. “

Isaiah 43:18

In  Revelation 5, it says that at the throne in heaven that the Lamb of God will take the scroll from Him on the throne and that the 24 elders will fall down before the Lamb, each holding a golden bowl full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. (Revelation 5: 6-8) After this they sang a new song.

The mission of the Florida Keys House of Prayer, Inc. is to pray.  To  pray for the banner to be raised here in the Keys, for a new thing to be done, for a way to made in this desert and for streams of living water to be poured over the wasteland…..for a new song to be sung.  That God would give life in its fullness to those here in the Keys through His son Jesus Christ.   

A vision for the future would include having longer periods of continuous prayer and worship offered on additional days of the week To offering and hosting discipleship classes that would help to equip intercessors and missionaries to go and further the kingdom of Christ.  And to see additional house of prayer established through the Florida Keys, united in mission and in spirit, supporting the local churches and pastors.

                harmony!   For harmony is as precious as the fragrant anointing oil that was poured over Aaron’s head, that ran down his               

                beard and onto he border of his robe. 3 Harmony is as refreshing as the dew from Mount Hermon that falls on the mountains                    of Zion. And the LORD has pronounced his blessing, even life forevermore.

What has God called you here for?  Each of us, when we come together brings an anointing that we do not have individually.  May the Lord impress upon you a desire to further His kingdom by becoming a part of building His House of Prayer.
